Dylan tickets will be sold by lotterySentinel staff reportSANTA CRUZ Pulling out your rain tent so you can camp out in front of the Civic Auditorium tonight to score tickets to Bob Dylan? Dont bother. Hundreds of Dylan fans are expected to line up when tickets go on sale Sunday for his two March concerts. But Civic officials plan to use a random-number distribution lottery to take the incentive out of sleeping on the cold brick of the auditoriums front steps. Heres how it will work: Ticket sales start at 10 a.m. Everyone there at 9 a.m. Sunday will be given a numbered voucher. The number drawn from a hat will be served first, regardless of whether that person showed up at 3 a.m. or 8:59. For example, if the number pulled from the hat is 83, whoever holds that voucher goes first. Whoever has No. 84 goes second, and so on. The civic staff has not yet decided the number of vouchers to be issued, but anyone who shows up after 9:30 a.m. will not get one and will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Civic will take no phone orders for the two 8 p.m. shows March 15 and 16. The tickets are $46, including a $1 service charge, and the Civic will accept cash only. Tickets will be limited to six per person. The Civic seats more than 1,900 people. Ticketmaster outlets at area Rite-Aid locations and Ritmo Latino will also be selling tickets. You can charge tickets by phone at (408) 998-TIXS or at Ticketmasters Web site: www.ticketmaster.com.
